Non-contact temperature sensor module.
The module allows you to measure the temperature of an object from a distance (without contact). The MLX90614 sensor is a silicon chip with a thin micromachined membrane, designed to be sensitive to infrared radiation emitted by a distant object. The sensor has an internal amplification and digitization stage (ADC) of the signal from the membrane. The sensor output is linear and is compensated according to variations in ambient temperature.
The MLX90614 sensor integrates a noise filtering circuit, a 17-bit resolution A/D converter (ADC) and a digital signal processor, delivering a wide working range for objects from -70°C to 380°C, with a precision of 0.5°C.
The output of the sensor is an SMBus-type digital communication interface, which is a subset of the I2C protocol. The sensor also allows you to configure a 10-bit PWM output.
